Rachel Lupo and Jacob Strle

August 15, 2020

Jacob and Rachel met online, and chatted for a while before Jacob invited her over to hang out with friends. “We hit it off right from the start,” says Rachel, “and spent about every day together until his deployment, then continued that trend after he returned, right up until our wedding day.” Jacob proposed to Rachel on a freezing cold winter day. “We had to trudge through two feet of snow to get there,” says Rachel, “but he got down on one knee despite the snow and asked the question. I, of course, said yes!” Looking back, Rachel says she remembers the wedding as a perfect day. “There was so much love for both of us,” she continues. “With it being a smaller venue, we invited our close friends and family, and it really felt like one big family gathering.” Rachel’s father performed the ceremony, and she says “it was so special to have him walk me down the aisle and then go on to officiate.” Among the happy and heartfelt moments, the life of the party turned out to be the bride’s best friend’s grandmother, “who spent the night enjoying the open bar and hitting on the younger men!” says Rachel.
