Bri & Ben

July 11, 2020

Bride’s name: Brianne (Bri) Bohn

Groom's name: Benjamin (Ben) Cruz

Occupations: Bri is a scheduler in social work and Ben is a business owner in construction.

How they met: Through mutual friends in the spring of 2017. The two had an “instant ‘love at first sight' unmistakable connection – we’ve been inseparable ever since!”

The proposal: While in Santorini, Greece, the couple watched the sunset on the terrace of their ancient cave house. “I was mesmerized by the color beaming down onto the Aegean Sea; that moment in time was so tranquil,” recalls Bri. “I then turned around to find Ben down on one knee! It was very special as it was just the two of us in the most romantic, beautiful place on earth.”

Number of guests: 130

Wedding colors: Beige/tan, white, gold, forest green and wood textures/accents

Most memorable moment…

For her: “When Ben read his vows. He could not stop crying and he never cries! He had almost every one of our guests in tears too. Ben was also crying BEFORE he even saw me during our ‘first look.’ Both the first look and the wedding ceremony were very heartfelt and memorable.”

For him: “When I first saw my beautiful bride and when she walked down the aisle.

Unique aspects of the day: As the guests arrived, pre-ceremony, they were treated to some drinks and a popcorn/candy bar. After the ceremony, guests each received a mini margarita bottle and chips and salsa, and each table included a bottle of Spanish champagne. Guests then chose from a variety of authentic, gourmet tacos from a local food truck. For favors, each guest took home “a fresh can of Alaska-smoked salmon from the Copper River, caught and processed by myself with the help of family,” says Bri. Another unique aspect of the day: “About half of our guests set up camp/parked their RV right at our cabin property. It turned into a tailgate party at the end of our wedding day.”

Three words that best describe their day: “Heartfelt, lively, perfect!” If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “We wouldn’t change a thing!”

What Bri loves most about her husband: “He tells me, and shows me, that he loves me, every single day.”

What Ben loves most about his wife: “I love her passion and drive the most.”

Best advice for a couple planning a wedding: “The best advice I can give is to do your research,” says Bri. “Attend a wedding fair, read planning books/magazines, listen to podcasts, weigh all of your options with your significant other, ask local friends and family for references, read vendor reviews and ask them lots of questions (to see if they are the right fit for you). I did all of the above, and was extremely happy with the vendors we eventually chose! I highly recommend each and every one of them.”
