Tips for crafting your signature cocktails
Want to add a splash of style to your wedding day? Serving a signature cocktail is a delicious way to set the mood and share a taste of your style and personality with guests. To help you kick off that celebration (or toast the night away), here are a few easy tips to create your very own signature sip.
• Consider creating two cocktails, one for the
bride and another for the groom. This way
each cocktail utilizes their favorite spirit.
• Think about what spirits your guests would like
(white spirits like vodka or brown spirits like
bourbon or rum). Tip: If you select two signature
cocktails, choose one with a light spirit
and one with a dark spirit. This will make sure
guests with different spirit preferences are
covered. Pair the spirit base with a seasonal
ingredient or two (such as fresh fruit, or herbs
like rosemary or mint).
• Use Color! Take inspiration from the primary
colors used at the wedding. Add chunks of
fruit to capture that color. You can also combine
muddled fruits (such as blackberries for
a dark purple color) or fruit juices with your
choice of alcohol. For an added pop of color,
top the drinks with fresh, edible flowers.
• Choose glassware to show off your creative
concoction. For an ornate display, opt for
crystal cocktail glasses or for an old-fashioned
feel, use vintage-style glassware.
• Create fun and festive names for the cocktails
to reflect your personalities.
• Need a little help coming up with something
fun that reflects your personality or theme of
your wedding day? Consult a professional
mixologist, your favorite local bartender or
your selected caterer/bar staff.
